Good Girls is an American criminal offense comedy-drama television series created by Jenna Bans that premiered on Feb 26, 2018 and ended on July 22, 2021 on NBC.[2] The series is executive produced by Bans, Dean Parisot, and Jeannine Renshaw for Universal Tv.[3] [4] In June 2021, the series was canceled after four seasons.[five]

Synopsis [edit]

The series follows three suburban Michigan mothers, 2 of whom are sisters, who are having a hard time trying to make ends meet. They are tired of having everything taken away from them so they decide to pull off an unlikely heist by robbing a supermarket, only to observe that they are in for more than they expected. Their successful robbery attracts the attention of the shop managing director later on he recognizes 1 of the women, but for a different reason altogether than just the money, and the attention of a mob gang that served the supermarket as a front end. Now caught in a serial of gang heists, debts, secrets, and familial crises, the others slowly descend downward a path they never thought of going down before.

  • Christina Hendricks as Elizabeth "Beth" Boland, a female parent of four and housewife whose car salesman married man of 20 years cheated on her.[6] She is the unofficial leader of the group and grows to enjoy life as a criminal.
  • Retta as Ruby Colina, Beth's best friend, a waitress who is struggling to pay for her girl Sara's kidney disease and medical treatments.[7]
  • Mae Whitman as Annie Marks, Beth's younger sister and female parent of Ben. Ben was born when Annie was still a teenager. Annie works at Fine & Frugal for a majority of the serial.[8]
  • Reno Wilson as Stanley Colina, Ruby'southward mall-cop-turned-actual-cop married man. He finds out near Cherry'due south criminal activities and, despite initially being against it, does his best to ensure she is not caught.[9]
  • Manny Montana as Christopher, as well known as Rio, a high-ranking criminal who has a money-laundering business concern. He supports his business concern through counterfeiting, pills, cars and other artistic ways. He takes a item interest in Beth, forming a complicated relationship with her.[10]
  • Lidya Jewett every bit Sara Hill, Ruby's and Stan'due south daughter who has kidney disease.

On May vii, 2018, NBC renewed the series for a 2d flavor, which premiered on March 3, 2019.[63] [64] On April 12, 2019, NBC renewed the series for a third season of 16 episodes, which premiered on February 16, 2020.[65] [66] [67] Because of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United states, the 3rd flavour was cut downward to 11 episodes.[68] On May 15, 2020, the series was renewed for a fourth season, which premiered on March 7, 2021.[69] [70] On June 25, 2021, NBC canceled the serial afterwards four seasons and opted to not shop to other networks.[five]

Casting [edit]

Originally, Kathleen Rose Perkins was cast in the role of Beth in the pilot.[71] Later it was confirmed she had left the projection and the office would be recast.[72] Christina Hendricks was announced every bit her replacement on July ten, 2017.[6] On September 17, 2019, Jackie Cruz was bandage in a recurring role for the tertiary season.[73] On Nov thirteen, 2020, Jonathan Silverman was bandage in a recurring function for the fourth season.[13] On April 13, 2021, Jordan Belfi joined the cast in a recurring role for the fourth season.[xiv]
